University Instructors (UI) is seeking engaging, student-centered elementary literacy teachers and tutors who are passionate about helping young learners grow and succeed.
In this role, you will work on-site in schools, providing direct support to students as they develop essential reading and literacy skills. Your work will play a vital part in helping students overcome academic challenges and build confidence as readers.

In this role, you’ll:
Demonstrate familiarity with a variety of learning platforms, literacy tools, and instructional materials related to reading and language development.
Communicate and engage with students in a friendly, professional, and student-centered manner.
Review and reinforce relevant course content, skills, and instructional objectives with students.
Respond to student questions with patience and positivity, providing clear and detailed explanations to support understanding of key literacy concepts.
Support students with test and quiz preparation by reviewing essential skills and content.
Serve as a communication bridge between students and teachers regarding course expectations, assignments, and progress.
Communicate with UI Program Management regarding questions or updates related to course content or student support needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate:
A solid understanding of effective instructional pedagogies and methodologies.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of instructional support.
Flexibility and confidence in working across multiple subject areas as needed.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Education and Experience**
Successful applicants will demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting student success. Candidates must also meet the following requirements:
Hold a bachelor’s degree
Reside locally or within commuting distance
Two years of education experience preferred (tutoring, teaching, or related instructional support)
$30 per hour | Monday–Friday | Daytime schedule
